5 inch gauge Standard Class 2 - stock code 1774

class="MsoNormal">Well made and nicely detailed model of a Standard Class 2 Mogul, designed by George Ivatt in 1946 and built up until 1953. The prototype engine was well-regarded as an economical mixed traffic engine with high route availability given its modest 13 1/2 ton axle loading.

This engine is in good running order with club boiler certificate expiring in 2004. The copper superheated boiler is silver-soldered and fed by twin injectors and an axle pump. The locomotive is fitted with steam brakes, the tender with a screw-down hand brake. The rear cab extension on the tender is removeable for driving.

The well-detailed backhead is nicely fitted out with semi-scale fittings, including gauge glass protectors, dummy linked blowdowns (with functional cocks beneath) and sight-feed lubricators. The locomotive lamps on the front are functional, powered by a battery beneath the tender.

The engine is finished in BR black livery - the paintwork is in "used" condition, entirely presentable but needing the odd touch-up in places.
