An immensely grubby 5 inch gauge "Simplex" 0-6-0T chassis; it's been stored in poor conditions for some years, acquiring a liberal coating of surface rust in the process.

Something of a shame, as there's actually some nicely done work under the muck - fortunately the valve gear was stored in plastic containers and has remained bright, the standard of machining still apparent, it's crisply done.

Despite needing stripping and a good clean up, there's enough here to get an air-running chassis with little by way of further expenditure on parts and not a great deal of time required in the workshop.
