5 inch gauge "Simplex" 0-6-0T - stock code 6302

Not the best paint job in the world, but this is a well made Simplex that runs nicely - we last had it in some years ago, thought it was a good one then.

Silver soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, feed by axle pump with auxiliary handpump on the footplate. Cast iron cylinder with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with screw reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.

I would be tempted to run this for the rest of the season, then makeup some cylinder cladding sheets and repaint the whole engine over winter - it goes well enough to warrant the effort, it could be turned into a good-looking engine.
