Not quite as ghastly as the last horrible Royal Scot we had in, this one is actually substantially better made underneath and considerably closer to the shape Fowler intended - a weekend getting the locomotive platework into better shape would do wonders for the overall look of the thing.Built to the Greenly design, it's a two cylindered engine, with robustly proportioned valve gear.
The engine turns over freely and runs on air. Grate and ashpan are missing.
