A Polly IV, built from a kit in 2007 and appearing, from its mechanical condition, little used. The owner went on to start building the Orenstein & Koppel-flavoured "Caroline" from Polly which we've recently sold, new and unsteamed.
Whilst it's in good order mechanically and runs well, paintwork is somewhat unfortunate. Not terribly well applied in the first place, it then appeared to have got grubby whereupon, instead of being cleaned, it was, er, lacquered...
So, here you have a seriously mucky engine, destined to stay in that state until somebody does the kind thing and repaints it. Not a big job on a Polly - everything is easy to get at and disassemble, it could be repainted over a couple of weekends and turned out looking like new.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector and axle pump with hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
