A "Polly IV", developed from John Clarke's original 0-4-0 "Polly" design to provide a heavier, more powerful engine. This one has has the normal sixteen gauge running boards replaced with 1/4 inch plate which considerably improves adhesion - the previous owner once had twelve people behind it!

Silver-soldered copper boiler, feed by injector with hand pump in tender. Slide valve cylinders with Stephenson's valve gear, lever reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator on left hand running board.

Still in Polly Engineering's current range, the engine is capable of running round a 25 foot radius.
