This one has come to us from a long-time customer, an experienced model engineer with several good locomotives and traction engines to his credit - on our last visit a 3 inch scale Allchin was well-advanced in his workshop, with a 5 inch gauge LNER B1 being built simultaneously. All this by a man well into retirement - one can only applaud his industry!
The commercially built, CE-marked boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. The engine steams freely and runs very nicely, notching up in either direction, with all water feeds working efficiently.
We're impressed with this one - a thoroughly well-sorted engine in excellent condition, one of the nicest Polly IVs we've had.
Complete with a folder of original assembly instructions and supplied with firing irons, a starter kit of coal and steam oil and 12 months warranty. If required, we would be pleased to include a half day's training in the firing, driving and maintenance of the engine.
