An early stage LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design. Work to date comprises a tender which is about 80% complete, with tank and brake gear fitted, along with the locomotive chassis at a rolling stage - wheels are machined and fitted with gunmetal horns and axleboxes, pump eccentric is fitted, cylinders are largely finished, complete with rear covers. There is some motionwork, including radius rod, expansion link and die nut, along with a quantity of wire-eroded parts which are very finely cut (and, I suspect, done overnight at some unsuspecting works, given the cost of wire eroding bits!).
Pretty grubby from years of storage, but the work beneath is to a decent standard - the chassis could be got up to an air-running state with little further expenditure on castings or material.
