5 inch gauge part-built "Lion" - stock code 5043

A 5 inch gauge "Lion" to LBSC's "Titfield Thunderbolt" design, published in "Model Engineer" magazine.

A fairly well advanced chassis, built to a fairly utilitarian standard but complete with wheels, machined gunmetal cylinder block with valves, crank axle, eccentrics (given the vagaries of LBSC's Gab gear for this design, slip eccentric has a lot to commend it) and a pair of machined coupling rods. There are machined wheels for a tender.

One piston rod has had a mishap at some stage and is bent - it wouldn't be a big job to replace. Other than that, not a great deal of time would be required to get this to an air-running stage.

Complete with a part set of drawings - about ten sheets - and copies of the original construction series. Castings are still available from Reeves for the remainder of the build.

For those unfamiliar with the design, I've had a couple of complete ones in recently, pictures in the archive here.
