5 inch gauge part-built "Britannia" - stock code 10047

An exceptionally well built 5 inch gauge "Britannia", comprising an air-running chassis and part-built tender.

Built to the detailed design produced in the 1970s by James Perrier, work to date is to an excellent standard throughout. The chassis is silky smooth to turn over by hand and includes axle pump, steambrake and dummy sanding gear.

The smokebox assembly, including chimney, door, locking handles, petticoat pipe and blast nozzle is something of a work in art in itself, with immaculate rivet work and soldering.

There are loose parts including reverser gearbox and linkage, a pair of lubricators, part-machined safety valves and inner/outer dome with boiler bush.

The tender chassis is well advanced, with brake gear fitted. There are profiled and formed brass parts for the body, along with hand pump and water scoop.

Model Engineers Laser produce a wide range of profiled parts for this design, including running boards and cab.

Complete with drawings, the potential here to produce a very fine example of this popular design.
