A 5 inch gauge GWR Prairie tank, built from a kit in 2002 by an experienced man (he built the Metro I sold recently) with many practical modifications. Paint scheme is reminiscent of the last days of BR steam, if you like the authentic weathered finish (and our OO-gauge cousins seems to spend a fortune perfecting it).

Silver soldered superheated copper boiler, working pressure 90psi, feed by injector and crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump in side tank. The original top feeds have been replumbed to the backhead to stop a tendency to carry water over when the safety valve released, the injector is set up to take water from a separate tank. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by inside Stephenson's valve gear, pole reverser in cab. The builder has fitted twin mechanical lubricators, one on each front running board.
