An older engine, it steams freely - we can't recall ever having had a Sweet Pea that didn't - and runs in both directions, better in forwards than reverse.
The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued, it's fitted with a stainless steel backhead and firehole door.
On test the injector, axle and hand pumps all proved effective, the injector set up to draw water from a tank on a driving truck.
There is some wear apparent in the bottom end which is coming up to needing various rods rebushing; the saddle tank drain valve is ineffective.
A running engine, with scope to improve, both mechanically and cosmetically.
