A new, 90% complete LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design. The majority of the work done is to a decent standard, however in recent times the "finishing off" jobs, including plumbing, boiler fittings and paintwork appear to have been done by an eight year old.
Silver soldered copper boiler with four element stainless steel radiant superheaters I can't find a maker's mark on it, although it looks commercially-built, quality of forming and soldering is good. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with screw reverser in cab. Twin mechanical lubricators.
The tender is substantially complete though mercifully unpainted, tank has been assembled from a commercial laser-cut kit.
