A well-built LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design, a popular, powerful club engine. This one has come to us from the builder, it was completed in 2014 and had its first club steam test in July of that year - as might be expected, it's in pretty much as-new condition throughout.
Silver soldered CE-marked copper boiler by Cheddar Valley Steam, 100psi working pressure. Four element superheater, feed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with screw reverser in the cab, mechanical lubricator. Steam brakes to locomotives, screw down brake on tender.
