Built by a retired railwayman - starting on Class 08 shunters he ended his days on the footplate driving Class 37s. We sold his well-detailed Class 08 recently - after finishing the B1 he went on to build a 3 inch Allchin agricultural engine.
The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued. The chassis runs on air, although with a good deal of leakage past pistons and/or valves, along with leaks that will require attention from regulator gland and blowdown valve.
The water gauge is home made in brass - it needs replacing with a bronze one, we recommend (and use ourselves) those supplied by Polly Engineering.
