5 inch gauge LNER B1 4-6-0 - stock code 10356

A 5 inch gauge LNER B1 built to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design.

This one has come to us from the family of the late builder, an experienced engineer with a "Simplex" 0-6-0T and well-advanced Standard Class 2 in the same gauge to his credit.

The engine is in running order - there's some video of it in steam on the rolling road here - although requires a variety of jobs attending to. Pistons and/or valves leak, axle pump is ineffective (although injector and hand pump both work), the cab roof is missing.

The boiler has had hydraulic and steam test, with new certification issued.
