5 inch gauge LNER B1 4-6-0 - stock code 10140

A 5 inch gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design, an older model built in South Africa by a professional engineer with several other locomotives to his credit, including the SAR 15F we currently have in stock.

Well built in the first place, it runs nicely on air in either direction with even beats. Regulator is currently non-operational, set in the open position - it needs stripping to repair.

Boiler showed a couple of small beads of water on hydraulic test - one inside the firehole door, two on the foundation ring - but was otherwise dry.
