A 5 inch gauge Jinty to Martin Evans' design. Built to a high standard it is nicely detailed and runs well. Completed in 2010, the engine is in fine mechanical condition, it has seen little use and comes complete with an equally well-made transport stand.

Silver soldered boiler with feed by injector and crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump in the side tank. 80psi working pressure. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with a pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.

Bit like Black 5s, for a popular, good-looking prototype engine I'm at a bit of a loss to know why so few of these get modelled - there must be 100 Simplices for every Jinty we see here - I only remember having had one other good one in the last ten years (which means the phone will ring tomorrow and half a dozen people will offer me one!)
