This one has come to us from a skilled engineer, boilermaker & long-time customer in Glasgow as part of a downsizing effort in retirement. A prolific model maker, his work has appeared in these pages many times in the past.
We've undertaken hydraulic and steam tests with certification issued for same - new safety valves were fitted at this time. The locomotive steams freely and runs exceptionally well in either direction, with some detectable wear in the valve gear and motion work.
The regulator is somewhat "all or nothing", needing a steady hand to operate!
