5 inch gauge Highland Railway "Loch" Class 4-4-0 - stock code 10063

A well-advanced 5 inch gauge "Loch" Class 4-4-0, designed by David Jones for the Highland Railway and built from 1896 - first by Dübs & Company of Glasgow, latterly by the North British Locomotive Company.

Work to date comprises the locomotive chassis complete with lubricator and brake gear, part-assembled flanged boiler kit and tender rolling chassis with profiled and formed brass bodywork.

The chassis rolls freely (although the front bogie wheels are stiff to turn) and runs on air in either direction.

Of elegant proportions, it's not a design we see very often - last one was a 3 1/2 inch gauge engine back in 2017, there are some pictures in the archive here.

Complete with a folder of drawings, notes and literature .
