5 inch gauge GWR Hall 4-6-0 - stock code 13051

The mortal remains of a 5 inch gauge GWR "Hall". This one has come to us from a retired gentleman who inherited it from his father - he remembers it running at the local club track in the 1980s, at which time it was taken apart for unspecified repairs.

When, some years and a house move later the project stalled, the engine was found to have lost its motionwork and various other bits and pieces - what you see here is everything we have of the engine and its tender.

The boiler has historic club certification. On hydraulic test there were several pinhole leaks around the safety valve boss, but it otherwise looked dry.

Based on Churchward's elegant "Saint" design, "Halls" are very rarely modelled in this gauge, possibly due to the popularity of Martin Evans' slightly smaller "Torquay Manor" design.
