The work of an award-winning model engineer, with an exceptional LNER V2 and Stanier 2-6-4T to his credit in 3 ½ inch gauge, this is an immaculately built Great Western large Prairie to Trevor Shortland’s highly detailed works drawing-based design.

I think the photographs tell everything on this one. Machining is to the very highest standards, fit and finish of everything is exceptional – detailing is excellent, the builder even thought ahead to making the coupling rods, boring a pair of steel strips at the same setting he bored the axleboxes, to ensure the bearing centres are spot on.
