An older engine, overall it's in good condition although with some typical age-related wear noted in motionwork and valve gear.
The commercially built boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued; all water feeds worked well, the mechanical pump well-matched to the requirements of the boiler.
On test the engine proved free-steaming, running on the rolling road without need of the blower, better in reverse than forwards.
Curiously the boiler is mounted very slightly on the squint, giving dome and chimney a slight list to port viewed from certain angles.
