He started at a young age, his father the man responsible for a vintage "Fayette" we recently sold as well as a 3 1/2 inch gauge LMS "Princess" currently in our workshop.
A highly detailed model, work to date is to a high standard and comprises a largely complete chassis, close to air running, complete with smokebox assembly. Stored for many years in a shed, it's currently seized - it needs careful dismantling, cleaning and reassembly.
Complete with a box of parts including vacuum brake cylinder, springs and number plates along with copies of works drawings, photographs and builder's notes. There are also a pair of works general arrangement drawings, pasted to boards which we had to dismantle the shed to remove!
The builder's son believes the model pre-dates Trevor Shortland's well known design, his father carrying out much research and photographing preserved examples of the class to build the model.
