A 5 inch gauge GWR 15XX 0-6-0PT to LBSC's "Speedy" design, with revised valve gear enabling advanced options (like running backwards - the original valve gear design wasn't one of the master's best). A robustly engineered locomotive, with some rough edges - paintwork, firebox cleading and some of the pipework all leave something to be desired - however the important stuff has all been done competently to produce an engine that runs well. Hand pump works but requires lots of handle-twiddling to get much water - in contrast the axle pump is more than man enough for the boiler
Commercially built silver soldered copper boiler by C.R.Bushell, supplied new 2000. 80psi working pressure, feed by axle pump with auxiliary hand pump in the side tank. Gunmetal cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaerts gear, pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
More than capable of running as is, it's an engine that could be much improved over winter for little expenditure.
