A 5 inch gauge GWR 15XX to LBSC's "Speedy" design. An older engine, it was built in South Africa, the work of an experienced engineer who also built a 5 inch gauge LNER B1 and 3 1/2 inch gauge SAR Class 15F 4-8-2.

Chassis runs, with wear apparent in axleboxes and motionwork.

Boiler is silver soldered with nutted and calked firebox stays - on hydraulic test it appears structurally sound, there is one minor leak on the foundation ring which will require repair. One flue tube has been blanked off.
