5 inch gauge GER 0-6-0T - stock code 8063

Although fallen on hard times in recent years, this finely-built 5 inch gauge Great Eastern Railway 87 - the prototype survives in preservation as part of the National Collection - is in substantially good order underneath the muck, with sound boiler and recent hydraulic test.

An unusual model, of attractive lines and well-detailed throughout. It's missing its smokebox door and associated furniture, regulator is firmly seized closed. However, it rolls along freely, motionwork and valve gear well-executed and nicely fitted.

A highly worthwhile project, with the potential to produce a fine example of this rarely modelled prototype.
