5 inch gauge "Edward Thomas" chassis - stock code 3298

I sold this a year or two back, it has come in as a part exchange against a larger scale steam wagon. I've copied the words and pictures from the archive, it's in much the same state as last time, although there is now a new set of drawings to go with.

A really nicely made early stage Kerr Stuart 0-4-2 saddle tank, better known as No.4 "Edward Thomas" of the Talyllyn Railway.

Work to date comprises:

Rolling chassis complete with driving wheels and rear pony truck fitted, cast iron horns and axleboxes, working leaf springs
Cast iron cylinders and valve chests machined and fitted
Cylinder end covers turned, complete with split collet for holding in lathe
Axle pump machined and fitted, complete with driving sheave and strap
Cab floor

Work to date is of a good standard, with Hackworth valve gear this would be a straightforward job to get up and running on air. I've got a complete specimen in stock at the moment on the "Locomotives" page.

Drawings and castings are available from Blackgates Engineering.
