5 inch gauge Thompson B1 to the Martin Evans "Springbok" design,
completed in 1999. Professionally-built superheated boiler, silver-soldered
copper construction with original twice pressure certificate and current club
certificate expiring in 2004. Boiler feed is by injector and tender mounted axle
pump - there is an auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Piston valve cylinders
with Walschaerts valve gear, cab-operated drain cocks.
The engine runs well and is in pretty much ex-workshop
condition, having only been steamed on a handful of occasions.
Complete with tender footpegs and a purpose-built braked ground-level driving
trolley and passenger seat.
