A 5 inch gauge "Mercury II" by Abbotts Model Engineering, an ideal beginner's locomotive compact enough to carry about in a hatchback, yet powerful enough to pull 4 to 6 children plus a driver.

Built from a kit by an experienced model engineer, from whom we've had both steam and battery electric locomotives in the past. A fastidious builder, he's got something of a penchant for AME designs - we've previously had his Saturn 4 and Neptune 3.

A builder rather than driver, like his other engines this has come to us in immaculate, virtually as-new condition with latest specification stainless steel window frames, a pair of Lucas batteries, 4QD controller and sound card with speaker.
