The engine rolls freely, using inside Stephenson's gear, with rocking shafts taking drive to the slide valves situated above the outside cylinders. The valve gear and motion are largely complete, although valve spindles are not connected to the rocker arms.
The boiler was commercially built by GB Boilers, supplied new in 2011 and is complete with safety valves, regulator, water and pressure gauges, and fountain.
