A 4 inch scale kit-built Ruston Proctor 3 ton steam tractor, recently arrived in part exchange for a large steam wagon. It's got a driving trolley and is road registered, it's grubby and has a variety of optimisation opportunities - not least moving the injector pipework so the front wheels don't foul it on right lock.
Steel boiler with expanded copper tubes, 100psi working pressure. Feed by injector and mechanical pump with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinder block ,slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear. Two speed transmission with rubber tyres on road wheels.
We had the engine in steam last week - it trundled around the yard ok until rain stopped play, we got some video of it ticking over in the workshop at the end of the day.
