This one has come to us from a local club member - he'd bought the boiler from its original owner intending to build the engine; in the end advancing years and other projects have pushed this one so far to the back of the queue he decided to move it on.
At some stage during build there was a change of plan regarding the dome position, it's been moved back along the boiler to a position closer to the centre of the saddle tank.
The previous owner conducted a twice working pressure hydraulic test, followed by a gas-fired steam test when first purchased.
Hydraulic tested at twice working pressure in our workshop in recent days, whilst we consider it structurally sound, there is a constant weep on the wet header boss to tubeplate joint, as well as a minute bead of water which forms on the foundation ring. With the copper in its current new, clean state, it's the time to repair before putting a fire in it.
Complete with manufacturer's documentation and initial hydraulic test certificate.
