A freelance traction engine, built to about 4 inch scale, similar in overall height and length to a larger agricultural like a Foster.

Steel boiler with expanded tubes, feed by pump and injector with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser on footplate. Mechanical lubricator. Two speed with winch behind nearside rear wheel, rubber tyres.

The engine needs some restoration, however I was surprised at how well it goes – the valvegear is set nicely, it runs and steams well. It has recently had a new set of gears cut to up the ratios, the old ones are with the engine, along with the boiler cladding.
