A well-built 4 inch scale Foster, it's come to us direct from the builder - it appears to have had little use from new and, as a result of his advancing years, none in the last three seasons. Tyres remain in as-new condition.

Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes, 110psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Twin Ramsbottom type safety valves. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, mechanical lubricator, whistle and Watt-type governor mounted on block.

Four shaft, two speed transmission with differential, winch mounted behind rear nearside wheel with fairleads on tender. Rubber tyres bonded to rims, all in excellent condition.

A particularly well finished engine with lots of nice details - nicely turned regulator, reverser and brake handles; a neatly fitted splashguard over the high and low speed gears on the crankshaft; substantial driver's seat with footrests and integral tool lock and a side-by-side passenger trolley on pneumatic wheels. It runs well - there's a clip of it ticking over in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon here.
