4 inch scale Burrell DCC road locomotive - stock code 10528

A professionally built 8nhp three speed double crank compound Burrell Road Locomotive; a one owner engine, it was commissioned from a builder responsible for - amongst many other engines - the fine Standard Class 2 we've recently sold and a magnificent 7 1/4 inch gauge Lynton & Barnstaple "Yeo" currently in the workshop.

The engine has had little use from new; stored in a heated garage with the owner's sports car, it remains in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition throughout - the rubber tyres virtually unmarked. The grate comprises individual cast firebars, as per prototype, with a stainless steel ashpan - they look to have had no more than a handful of steamings from new.

Unused in several years, we've put a new set of tubes in the boiler and done a full, cladding off hydraulic and steam test.

The engine goes as well as it looks, free-steaming and easy to drive - there's some video of it here. We rate this one - a super machine in first class condition which, looked after, should give many years of trouble free service.

Supplied with firing irons, a starter kit of coal and water treatment, and 12 months warranty. If required, we would be pleased to give a half day's training in the firing, driving and maintenance of the engine.
