4 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine - stock code 8544

We sold this one back in 2016, it's recently come back in from the family of the late owner. Re-tubed in 2013 by John Rex, it hasn't been steamed in recent times, nor enjoyed the best of maintenance.

Listed as a project, it will require work to recommission including stripping for test, the boiler needs a thorough washout.

Pictures opposite were taken in the last week, words below are from 2016.

A 4 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine, completed in 1993 and at first running on strakes. It was put onto rubber tyres in 2003, the boiler was retubed in 2014 by John Rex. Paintwork is tired, however the engine goes well - there's a clip of Jon giving it a run here.

Steel boiler with expanded tubes, 100psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Ramsbottom safety valves. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser, mechanical lubricator.

Two speed, three shaft transmission with differential, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender. Rubber tyres fitted to steel bands over strakes.

Complete with a functional, if fairly basic, driving/passenger truck.
