4 1/2 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine with passenger trolley - stock code 7189

A well built 4 1/2 inch scale Burrell 6nhp agricultural engine, built to the Plastow design it's come to us direct from the builder. Built over a period of five years, it was completed in 2011 and has been rallied since.

CE marked welded steel boiler with expanded tubes by Bell Boilers of Gloucester, 120psi working pressure. Feed by mechanical pump and injector (missing from the photographs, it was having a bath in the ultrasonic cleaner at the time) with auxiliary hand pump mounted in the tender, its extension handle operating through the footplate.

Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, pole reverser. Pickering type governor, bell type whistle and mechanical lubricator mounted on the block.

Two speed, three shaft transmission with differential, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender. The wheels have bonded rubber tyres to the front and rubber blocks sets between the strakes at the back - it's a system we've seen before and like, it gives much of the authentic look of strakes with reduction in noise and improved comfort for road use.

There is a large driver/passenger trolley with footboards, complete with flashing hazard beacon at the rear. There is capacious storage under the hinged seat, with a plastic water tank mounted at the front. The engine is road registered with V5 document, in good order throughout - it runs well, there's some video of Connor running around on it here.
