A new, unsteamed 4 1/2 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine to the well-regarded Plastow design. Work is generally to a good standard, the engine turns over freely, paintwork is nicely done and well lined.
Steel boiler with expanded tubes by Franklin & Bell, working pressure 110psi. Feed in this design is by injector and pump. The injector is fitted, the pump body with valves is complete, it requires a ram and connecting rod, eccentric strap and sheave already fitted to the crankshaft. Fabricated cylinder block, slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Mechanical lubricator, Pickering type governor. Two speed transmission with differential, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender, wheels are on rubber tyres - a nicely done job with the tyres bonded to steel bands fitted over strakes.
