Whilst we've had several of the gas-fired Garratts, this is the first coal-fired example to come through the workshop - it proved surprisingly easy to fire, the engine steamed freely and ran well.
The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.
Featuring radio control for regulator and reverser, the locomotive is complete with transmitter, a pair of 32mm and 45mm pony trucks, and purpose built wooden transit box.
Although looking somewhat dated now, what ELR's publicity video lacks in resolution it makes up for in demonstrating the impressive performance of their design.
