Based on a Peckett 0-6-0 built in 1944 for the Harrogate Gas Works, it later sold to the Ffestiniog Railway, intended to be renamed "Volunteer".
For various reasons the locomotive proved unsuitable, subsequently moving to the Bredgar & Wormshill Railway in Kent (where, back in 2003, whilst negotiating the purchase of the D&RG K36 "Durango Queen", Mr P came perilously close to buying either the Peckett or La Meuse 0-4-0T, both up for sale at that time).
Steamed twice from new, the model is in excellent condition with few if any signs of use.
