3 inch scale Marshall traction engine - stock code 2361

An example of a rarely-modelled prototype, a 7nhp Marshall using Brunell Models drawings and castings. This designs builds up into a big, strong engine - six inches longer than the ubiquitous 6nhp Burrell and getting on for a hundreweight heavier. It makes a very capable rally performer, similar in size to some smaller four inch scale engines.

Steel boiler with expanded tubes, 100psi working pressure, test certificate to September 2005. Removable manhole. Feed by mechanical pump with bypass and injector. Slide valve cylinder with Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on footplate. Mechanical lubricator driven from valve rod.

This is a three shaft, two speed engine with winch mounted behind the left hand rear wheel. It has recently been stripped and painted and is generally in good mechanical order, although wear in the valve eccentrics could use taking up (and the injector has a mind of its own).

Apologies for the artifically-lit pictures, the engine's in the workshop and, at the end of a long day, it looked far too big to drag outside!
