3 inch scale "Little Samson" traction engine - stock code 3883

A beautifully-built example of the Savage "Little Samson" 5 ton steam tractor in 3 inch scale. Recently completed, the engine has been little run - it is mechanically and cosmetically as-new. The work of an accomplished engineer, he is currently well-advanced building a 3 inch Savage "Universal Carrier" wagon, plans for the next project, this time in 4 inch scale, are already under consideration.

CE-marked steel boiler by Bell Boilers of Gloucester, welded steel construction with expanded tubes. Working pressure 100psi. Feed by injector and crankshaft driven pump with auxiliary hand pump on the manstand. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, pole reverser, mechanical lubricator. All other oiling points are well supplied with nicely made wick feed brass oiling pockets, with large sight feed lubricators to the trunk guide and valve spindle.

The engine runs very well with clear, square exhaust beats. A model rarely seen on the rally field, it is an easy to handle size whilst being big enough to fire and drive easily.
