3 inch scale Clayton undertype steam wagon with living van - stock code 9386

A well-built 3 inch scale Clayton tipper steam wagon, complete with living van.

The work of a retired engineer, something of a steam wagon enthusiast with two Fodens under construction in the workshop alongside the Clayton. Work to date is to a high standard throughout.

The silver soldered copper boiler has had an initial twice working pressure hydraulic test and is complete with club certification for same. It's currently set up for gas-firing, although it would be little work to fit a grate.

The engine is largely complete, needing crankcase covers to finish. Transmission is by chain to the back axle - there is a dog clutch fitted, a useful addition allowing the engine to be run out of gear.

Well painted, the outfit has been nicely sign written.
