Completed in 1985, the engine was built to a good standard in the first place and remains in presentable condition with bright paintwork.
Since arriving in the workshop it's been fitted a new little end bush, the big end bearings have been machined to take up wear. The lubricator and water pump have been serviced, the water gauge fittings have been cleaned and rodded through to clear a blocked blowdown.
The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued, the engine steams freely and runs well in either direction, with slight wear evident in the crank bearings.
