Completed some years ago, the engine remains unsteamed from new.
The silver soldered copper boiler is made to a good standard, we have removed the cladding and conducted a twice working pressure hydraulic test with certificate issued for same.
Machining is to a good standard throughout, there is light surface rusting on some of the steel parts which will come off easily with Scotchbrite.
As always with particularly well-built models it's the details that stand out: studs all equal lengths, with the same amount of thread showing beyond their nuts; the valve chest provided with a pair of jacking holes to remove it without damaging the joint faces; the neatly fitted and clipped pipes from draincocks and crosshead tray.
The engine will require some dismantling for painting, with the potential to make a fine example of this popular design.
