A 3 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine. We originally sold this one in 2021 (there's a listing in the archive here), noting at the time it ran well and was, in the main, rather nicely made. Other, that is, than the boiler which was a veritable smorgasbord of disparate materials held together by a variety of methods, none of which instilled confidence.

Sold to a man experienced in full-size road steam, he ordered a new CE-marked boiler from John Rex and set to stripping the engine down to fit it.

The boiler has been fitted to the horns, the tender has been painted and fitted, most other parts have been cleaned, polished and refurbished ready for reassembly.

Work to date is to a high standard, it will make a fine example of this popular miniature when finished. It's only come to us now, part-finished, in order that he could buy a larger Showmans engine which we've recently had come in.
