A well turned out 3 inch scale Aveling & Porter steam wagon, built from a Maxitrak kit and based on their well-proven Aveling tractor components. We've had several of the tractors in over the years, free-steaming and rather rapid in high gear.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by mechanical pump with auxiliary hand pump. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, mechanical lubricator. Two speed transmission, chain drive to rear axle, rubber tyres to road wheels.
Driving position is more like a 4 inch scale engine, riding on the back with footrests mounted forward, rather than the more normal 3 inch scale engine with trolley behind.
Complete with electric steam-raising blower and set of firing irons.
