Rear wheels have been fitted with strakes, with steel bands over should it be desired to fit rubber tyres.
Not common in this scale, we've had a few over the years, including a super one by a friend of ours - now sadly no longer with us - which also had a John Rex boiler; there are pictures and further information about that engine in the archive here.
