Underneath the fairly mediocre paintjob is a well-made
large-boilered, Walschaert’s gear “Tich” – typical of the type it goes
like the clappers, the wheels disappear in a blur when opened up!
Silver soldered superheated copper boiler, 80psi working
pressure, feed by axle pump with hand pump in side tank. Gunmetal cylinders with
slide valves actuated by Walschaert’s gear, pole reverser in cab, mechanical
lubricator.
